Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage is designed to promote overall relaxation of the mind and body by using smooth gliding strokes and gently manipulating the tissue using Swedish techniques.
This type of massage is encouraged for anyone looking to incorporate self-care into their routines and take time for themselves to hit the "reset" button. Also a great introductory treatment for first-timers.
Designed to improve circulation, range of motion, and relieve minor muscle pain, relaxation massage has numerous benefits:
Reduced Blood Pressure
Improved to Peripheral Circulation
Improved Gastrointestinal (GI)
Motility
Reduced Muscle Tension & Headaches
Reduced Stress Symptoms like Anxiety & Depression
Increased Happy Hormones: Dopamine, Serotonin, and Endorphins
Improved Quality of Sleep
Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage goes beyond promoting relaxation and focuses on a specific injury or condition in order to help relieve pain and discomfort. Ie: neck and shoulder pain due to sitting at a computer all day, sciatica, strained low back, and many other musculoskeletal conditions
A moderate to deep pressure is used according to the comfort of the client. Specific muscles and areas are worked on and it may not be a full body treatment
An ongoing treatment plan may be created to treat a chronic or stubborn condition.
Deep Tissue Massage
During a deep tissue massage, the primary goal is less about general relaxation and more about treating a specific injury, chronic pain, or constricted area, thereby promoting a change in the overall structure of the body.
The massage begins by applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia ( the connective tissue surrounding muscles).
This type of massage provides better alignment of the muscles and less restriction in the joints, creating a better range of motion.
It can help promote the healing of scar tissue, help lengthen and release muscles that frequently feel tense and get stuck in uncomfortable holding patterns.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage is a therapeutic massage designed to alleviate the aches and pains of pregnancy.
There is a misconception that expectant mothers shouldn't have treatment during the first trimester, However, massage is safe throughout the entire pregnancy. A soothing and nurturing touch is used to help you feel relaxed once again.
Prenatal massage has many benefits:
Improved Circulation: Reduced Swelling in Legs & Feet
Reduced Stress Hormone: Cortisol
Improved Quality of Sleep
Reduced Back & Joint Pain
